1. Stephen Collins Forester (1826-1864). American composer and songwriter he composed mainly parlour and minstrel music. His most famous compositions are "Oh! Susanna" and "Hard Times Come Again No more". 2. Dan Emmet (1815-1904). American composer, entertainer and songwriter. Famous for his song "Dixie" and for writing very popular minstrel songs.
