We use the followig property of triangles:

• One side cannot be equal or greater than the sum of the other two sides

The sides of this triangle are: 11, 9 and 17.

The sum of the first two sides is: 11+9=20

The sum of the two sides is greater than the other remaining side (17).

Thus, 11, 9 and 17 do not make a triangle.
