Can someone help? 12x−2y=8 not in a faction and not is a decimal.

Add 2y to both sides

12x-2y+2y= 8+2y

12x = 2y+8

Divide both sides by 12

12x/12 = (2y+8)/12

x= 1/6 y + 2/3
